The statement, He was never really saved to begin with is used sometimes by the once saved always saved advocates to describe a professing Christian who falls into adultery, greed, drunkenness, pornography, homosexuality, etc. or false doctrinal beliefs to protect their doctrine from the charge of teaching a license to sin.
